Clotho is the younger of the Moirae, or Fates, in Greek mythology. The drawing portrays the tender yet powerful moment of spinning the thread of life. I have always imagined Clotho as a child, innocent yet cunning. Here she gently pulls a fine filament that binds a moth in quiet suspension—symbolizing the fragile beginnings woven by fate.
