The Gates to other worlds. I often see caves that lead somewhere peaceful and I paint the gap before I paint the cave because the gap is where the light lives. The edges dissolve into fog because that's how they look to me, the stone goes soft the closer you get to walking through it. The cave has been waiting longer than any of us to be looked through instead of at and it enjoys the company. Oil painting on canvas. In those gaps is a world of unimaginable beauty. That was the whole idea.
