Sunset gazing
Streak's of colours fill the sky,
Shades of orange and Prussian blue,
Silhouette of the Summer trees,
Peaceful moment,
Margaret Marsh, North Dorset.

Words and thoughts of my experience of a local landscape in the Blackmore vale.
Original expressive watercolour on hot pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
I used a four colour technique with sporadic wet on wet washes. Each back wash of colour on wet paper I would move the pigments across by tipping the paper. Then more markings were applied over the top.
I then painted the tree line in a dark earth shade by pressing the paint on and going over it again. Many different shades were created from four tubes of watercolour paint.
I etched out the paint in the foreground for the grasses with my finger nail. Signed on the front and back of artwork.

Materials used:

Hot pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb, Japanese watercolours, Chinese brushes and Japanese mop squirrel hair brush, filbert brush,
