Walking back through Hartland moor.

Words and feelings of my experience of Englands largest lowland reserve in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.
Original expressive watercolour on cold pressed watercolour paper high white Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
I created this sunsetscape one very hot afternoon in July. I have been taking in a lot of different sunsets and this painting is created from my visual memory and imagination. It’s all about the light and beauty of the world.
I applied sporadic washes of the sunset sky leaving areas of white. I then paint the tree line effect used a tipping technique when releasing the pigments.
I used similar colours for the foreground and etched out the paint with my nail for the grasses.
