Silent Reflection (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Olivia Gozzano

This mixed media artwork on a wood panel is built on a rich interplay of textures and shapes, where the soft, grainy vintage feel of the figure transitions into bold, flat geometric fields. The color palette is dominated by the cool, deep tones of emerald green and teal in the background, beautifully interrupted by a soft pastel pink vertical block in the upper right. These cool shades perfectly balance the warm orange and red tones of the kimono, while fine lines of hand-painted gold dots trace the geometric borders, catching the light as it shifts.
I was deeply inspired by the delicate boundary between visibility and concealment, blending traditional Japanese iconography with a contemporary abstract environment. Drawing from the quiet, introspective world of the geisha, I wanted to capture a moment of absolute privacy and internal focus.
My creative process involved layering distinct visual textures: the central figure emerged through an ultra-thin print on tissue paper applied directly onto the wood, while the background was built using expressive, rich layers of acrylic paint. Small gold accents highlight the geometric divisions of the composition. To complete the piece, the edges of the panel have been meticulously wrapped in a green velvet ribbon, visually lending a sense of delicate protection to the entire image.
The artwork is sold completely unframed, yet it comes equipped with a secure hanging system on the reverse, making it fully ready to hang and display on your wall upon arrival.
