£445.02
Original artwork description
This painting is my interpretation of the cover of Frank Ocean’s Blonde, inspired by the song “Seigfried.” The song is an existential and deeply conflicted reflection on the tension between conformity and authentic self-expression—between the life society expects us to choose and the life we truly want.
The figure hides his face behind his hands, creating a feeling of vulnerability, isolation and inner conflict. He seems to be protecting himself while, at the same time, struggling to understand who he really is.
For me, Seigfried is about the fear of choosing your own path. It asks whether we have the courage to step outside expectations and accept an uncertain, authentic life instead of choosing the safer version of happiness. The hands become almost a barrier between the person and the outside world—a gesture of both hiding and searching for oneself.
