Same Time, Another Day (2024)
“The sun sets everywhere, but it never speaks the same language twice. In the distant heat of a Thai evening, the horizon doesn’t just mark the end of a day—it marks the beginning of a memory that refuses to fade.”

* The Tropical Afterglow: This expansive 100 x 150 cm abstract landscape on 3D linen canvas is a sensory map of a January escape to the other side of the world. It captures the heavy, humid air of a Thai beach at dusk, where the sky turns into a muted charcoal and the last rays of light ignite the horizon in a flicker of bronze and turquoise. By applying the Blinkered method to this grand scale, I have translated the vastness of the Andaman Sea into a rhythmic, layered meditation on distance and warmth.

* The Musical Cipher: The title Same Time, Another Day serves as a temporal anchor in my "sonic diary." It references a specific track that echoed through the salt-heavy air during those summer-in-winter nights. I invite the collector to seek the auditory heartbeat within these deep greys and golden embers; only when the music’s slow, tropical pulse matches the physical grain of the linen is the true frequency of this "faraway home" unlocked.

* Architectural Memory: Executed on a premium 3D linen canvas, the work possesses a depth that mimics the layered nature of nostalgia. Using unconventional DIY tools—sponges, rags, and raw pressure—I built dozens of translucent glazes to recreate the visual distortion of heat rising from the sand. This contemporary painting acts as a portal, bringing the quiet, intense energy of an exotic horizon into the permanence of a modern interior.
