Original artwork description
Sakura is a frontal portrait built from stillness and liquid movement. The subject’s direct gaze is sharply held while her hair dissolves into long black drips, allowing control and instability to coexist within the same face. The near-monochrome palette removes decorative colour, making every shift in expression and every break in the paint more exposed. The portrait balances transience with resistance: its edges may run and fade, but the woman’s presence does not.
Oil on 290 gsm paper, 29.7 × 40 cm. Unframed. Signed on the front and back. A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
