The complete title is ‘Roasting chestnuts at the market, J.B., PasarTani’.
Another market scene, this one inspired from the nearby Saturday farmer’s market we find everywhere in Malaysia. To me it’s the starting point for a play of colours washes and brush strokes. The result is bold on this large size paper.
The close up pictures are to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and my studio!
