This series of images, which began in 2016, is part of my body of work that explores the intimacy of family life and seeks to make it universal.
“Masks” are the roles we take on as we grow up, whether we want to or not. They represent the art of socialization, of living with others, of stepping into the shoes of the mother, the father, the older brother, or the younger sister.
The masks are handcrafted by the artist.
