Riptide (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Abi Moffat

This original abstract painting emerged from an exploration of the colour blue. Having just bought some new liquid acrylics, I was excited to experiment with their fluidity, allowing the paint to flow, layer and move freely across the surface.
Rich blues, turquoise and lighter, translucent tones combine with bold, sweeping marks and expressive textures to create a painting full of energy and movement. The flowing lines and deep, swirling colours evoke the restless power of the ocean, reminding me of a riptide beneath the surface.
This painting is presented in a hand-painted frame that complements its vibrant blue palette.
