Respite (2026) Original Watercolour by Olga Kozyra

44.5 x 64.5 x 2cm (framed) / 39 x 59cm (actual image size)

£833.58

“Respite” is a reflection on intimacy as a source of comfort and relief. Two figures, intertwined in an embrace, create an intimate space where they can briefly set aside the weight of everyday life and simply be. The muted colour palette enhances the calm and tenderness of the moment, while their closeness becomes a symbol of safety, affection, and emotional refuge. It is a painting about the need to pause, find peace in another person, and allow oneself a moment of rest.

The piece was created on a wooden panel, which I personally coated with a clear watercolor ground. The painting has been sealed with wax and set in a simple, black wooden frame—making it ready to hang.

Materials used:

wood, DS watercolour ground, Qor watercolour paints, wax
