Purple Rain (2021) Original Acrylic Painting by Abi Moffat

This original abstract painting has a palette of purple and blue. I developed this acrylic painting alongside another painting (Blue Lights), in a period when I was experimenting with a brighter but limited colour palette. Normally my work involves many more layers but these two paintings came to be in one sitting. This piece focuses on the subtleties of colour and gesture and how they can evoke varied emotions.
