Orange is not Enough (2024) Original Acrylic Painting by Patií Domingues
30 x 30 x 3cm / 30 x 30cm (actual image size)
£342.96
Original artwork description
Some houses seem to have everything they need. Fresh paint, trimmed gardens, clean lines, perfect geometry. Yet something refuses to settle.
Orange Is Not Enough explores the unsettling calm hidden beneath the surface of ordinary architecture. The composition appears balanced, but subtle shifts in perspective, colour and proportion quietly suggest that something has slipped out of place. Nothing dramatic happens, yet the feeling lingers.
Part of the Moóca Houses series, this painting reflects my fascination with the silent theatre of everyday façades, where memory, humour and ambiguity inhabit spaces that seem perfectly familiar.
Hand-painted in acrylic on canvas, the work is presented in a handcrafted wooden frame built by the artist. More than a framed painting, it is conceived as a small architectural object, designed either to hang on a wall or rest on a shelf as a sculptural presence.
