£450

A detailed hand-pulled linocut print inspired by an evening walk through familiar suburban streets. This print was selected for the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition 2024.

My prints begin with walks. Rather than recording a place exactly as it appears, I transform remembered routes, conversations and moments of companionship into bold, dramatic compositions that explore how we experience familiar landscapes.

"Our dog, Bruce, never gets bored of walking our local streets, day or night, and neither do I. There's always something unexpected to notice if you take the time to look closely."

I begin by transferring my original drawing onto linoleum using red carbon paper before carving the block by hand. The image evolves intuitively throughout the cutting process, with each mark refining and shaping the final composition.

Printed in a limited edition of 20, each print is hand burnished using a traditional baren to transfer the ink onto smooth Snowdon 130gsm acid-free paper. This slow, hand-printing process gives every impression its own subtle character, making each print unique.

Each print is titled, numbered and signed in pencil.
