  • Biography
    Every picture tells a story.

If you savour the simple things in life, like freewheeling down hill on a bicycle, chatting to people whilst walking your dog, shuffling through autumn leaves, watching squirrels chase along a telegraph wire. If you find humour and pathos in everyday occurrences, then you will appreciate the subject matter of my artwork.

I am an artist whose whimsical artworks celebrate experiencing the simple pleasures of life. My local Hampshire environment provides a rich source of inspiration and I delight in depicting incidents witnessed.

Working in a pottery, training as a sign writer, studying Fine Art to MA/MPhil Degree level and teaching Art and Design full time for 31 years including two Head of Art roles in sixth form colleges have all had an influence on my art making practice.

My drawing, printmaking and painting processes inform and complement one another and I maintain inspirational momentum by visiting art galleries and museums, reading art journals and literature, watching films and art documentaries and most importantly observing and experiencing life whilst walking the dog or riding my bicycle.
