A zebra turns its head and looks back over its shoulder. In that suspended moment, silence takes center stage.

Against a deep, dark background, the stripes become a symphony of cobalt, indigo and warm ivory. Each brushstroke follows the animal's anatomy closely and shapes the volume of the neck and back. Light glides across the coat and draws the figure out of the darkness. A touch of fiery orange-red in the mane and the moist gleam of the eye, framed by long lashes, add an unexpected contrast that gives the gaze life and character.

This painting pairs the precision of realism with a bold color palette. Despite its intimate size, it has great presence. It works beautifully as a focal point on a desk, a bookshelf or a small-format gallery wall, and its dramatic contrast stands out in both minimalist and classic interiors.
