Artwork description
Channelling the defiant spirit of Anne Elliot from Persuasion, this artwork powerfully represents feminist ideals. Anne Elliot’s courage to make her own choices shines through in each captured moment, inspiring individuals to embrace their autonomy and follow their hearts.
This project is part of Women in Quiet Rebellion, this project aims to give a voice to women who didn’t have one through history, connecting the dots and inviting them in a scene that reflects their oppression and the ways they had to learn to rebel “quietly” from the place that society gave them, accepting their lot, feeling under pressure to conform. Their only form of escapism was to rebel inside, moving things slowly like the wings of a butterfly, creating a snowballing effect across history. This project is a reflection of the story of all these women who could not use their voices.
Giclée Art Print: Fine Art Photographic print with a white border, printed on archival giclée fine art baryta paper with a high-gloss finish. The soft reflective coating highlights delicate details and includes a 100% barium sulphate layer that gives it the look and feel of traditional darkroom prints.
