Light Waiting (2026) Original Oil Painting by Maria Romano

50 x 60 x 2cm (unframed)

1 Artist Review

£915.24

A portrait suspended between presence and dissolution.
The female figure emerges from a pale, layered surface crossed by painterly shifts, fragmentation, and visual interference that distort the perception of the face and body. The glitches are not digital but material: traces, smears, and soft duplications that turn the image into something unstable and vulnerable.
The luminous forms surrounding the figure evoke abstract organic presences, balancing between memory, transformation, and loss of identity.
The work combines traditional painterly sensitivity with a contemporary visual language, creating a subtle tension between beauty, error, and disintegration.

The edges are painted so the painting can be hung without frame, the surface is finished with satin touch-up paint, which makes it resistant to UV rays and the passage of time. The signature is present both on the left side and on the back of the canvas and painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

The shipments outside the EU and Switzerland, will be delayed a few days more for the recovery of the customs certifications necessary for export.
