Original artwork description
Light and Earth
Pale golden sky,
Woodland copse silhouette,
The Marsh land,
Deep earthy purple and yellow ochre,
A Dorset landscape.
Words and expression.
Inspired by Wareham marshes in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.
I created this original expressive watercolour for an art demonstration in the Art Garden Studio for a lovely lady who came for An Allday Art Experience learning one to one watercolour techniques recently in November.
I used cold pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb. Three colour technique, wet on wet washes where applied then a base line technique, moving and tipping the pigments to create the treeline organically. I love demonstrating in this way and it’s meditative using brushstroke techniques and no drawing.
Materials used:
Cold pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb, Windsor and Newton watercolours, Chinese hake, filbert brush, Chinese brushes,
Details:
- Watercolour on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 31 x 21.3 x 1cm (unframed)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
