Along the mossy bank,
Mild air mixed with cold,
Kingston Lacey Estate.
Words and feelings of being here in January.
To create I first must get a true feelings of the place .
I went with my mum to ‘Kingston Lacey Estate’ in Dorset .Its a place with elegant landscape around it and formal gardens mixed with an oriental twist. We start our walk in grounds -Lime Avenue is the first area very formal ,neat and perfectly groomed .Then we get to ‘Ladies Walk’ which opens out into woodland areas ,camellias, azaleas,Chinese bamboo and Snowdrops interspersed with mossy greens. It felt like spring at the beginning and we felt so good. Then the rain came and we got totally soaked half way round so we had a moan ,kepted going and dried off with a cup of tea and a fruit scone in the ‘Stables’ tearoom.
I used my memory of the place -Wet in wet technique then a dragged technique.I etched out the paint with the end of a Chinese bamboo brush.
