Original artwork description
Looking at this piece, it immediately evokes a powerful sense of fragmented identity and psychological depth. The way Modiano layers the two faces creates a striking feeling of duality—as if we are looking at two distinct people sharing an intense, unspoken bond, or perhaps two different sides of the very same soul.
Overall, it feels less like a traditional portrait and more like a visual representation of a complex emotional state—capturing that quiet, heavy space between thought and feeling.
