"I've Done Questionable Things" (2026) Original Oil Painting by Christopher Gill
100 x 100 x 4cm (unframed) / 100 x 100cm (actual image size)
£2,500
Original artwork description
A new exciting departure for me; a cathartic experience following the recent, untimely death of my beautiful wife.
This is the first in a series of paintings of the Antihero in popular culture, drawing from past, meaningful and personal experiences.
Fans of the cult 80s film Blade Runner will need no introduction to this image of Roy Batty, and his journey from mesmerising villain to ultimate redemption.
Painted on professional quality canvas by Seawhite of Brighton (England) in an expressive way with quite thick paint and some impasto, I have been influenced by the work of Rembrandt and the late contemporary Canadian painter, Tony Scherman, who's work I first admired in the 1990s and which had a profound effect on me.
Not inexpensive, but quality is remembered long after the price has been forgotten.
Chris.
