Inside the Whisper (2025) Original Ink Drawing by Nicol Vacaru

Inside the Whisper is an original black ink drawing on paper depicting two human profiles formed through layered, continuous brush movements.

I created the figures without fixed outlines, allowing the faces to emerge gradually from overlapping ink gestures. One profile is immediately visible, while the second appears more quietly within the surrounding lines.

I was interested in the feeling of two presences occupying the same visual space — connected, yet still separate.

The contrast between dense black marks and untouched paper keeps the composition simple while giving it movement, depth and a strong graphic character.
