Image (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Stanislava Cherkasova
19.69 x 27.56 x 0.39" (unframed)
$1,100
Original artwork description
The image of a girl here is a pretext for experimenting with texture. Sometimes what the paint says matters more than the expression on a face. I don’t think this makes the portrait less human. A person is present here, but she is carried by the substance of the painting rather than by her features. The portrait is built from material instead of description, and what it records is something felt before it can be named.
