ICARUS – THIRST FOR FREEDOM

🔷 MY VISION:
With this sculpture, I wanted to reinterpret the timeless Greek myth, transforming the human desire for ultimate freedom into a powerful modern geometric statement.
The artwork captures Icarus at the exact millisecond before takeoff, standing with arms widespread as his massive wings prepare to lift him. The lean, athletic human figure is synthesized into sleek, kubistic planes where the sharp, faceted wings form a calculated structural balance of mass and open space.
Through this radical simplification and a multi-layered bronze patina, I aimed to freeze a sense of tension, high ambitions, and endless horizon. It is an exploration of how a minimal silhouette can project a profound sense of daring spirit above its solid bronze base.
