Hydra XIII (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Sabrina Seck
200 x 200 x 4cm (unframed)
£16,103.74
Original artwork description
Hydra XIII is another masterpiece in my series, of an incredible scale. The impact of this work cannot be captured by a camera. This hydra captivates with seven completed/uncompleted characteristics. Every person has multiple faces, but some are not yet fully developed. For every human facet needs time to mature. Whether we like it or not remains to be seen. But even if we cut off its head, the characteristic will grow back, like the head of a hydra. It is up to us how we nurture the individual facets and how far they develop. But we will possess each and every one of them. Be it the dark side or the side of light. We carry them within us. The expressive eyes invite us to explore, and perhaps even understand, the complexity of identity and emotion. This work is intended to awaken a deep emotional resonance in the viewer, to encourage them to question themselves or humanity in general.
