Artist's description:

2019, "Hermes" - stone sculpture

This original marble limestone sculpture on basalt pedestal is one of the latest artworks of the skillful Bulgarian contemporary professional artist, deeply inspired by modernism, neoclassicism and naturalistic portraiture. Hermes is the emissary and messenger of the gods, the god of trade, heraldry, merchants, commerce, roads, sports, travelers, and athletes in Ancient Greek religion and mythology. This artwork is one extraordinary solid stone masterpiece and exquisite modern home décor.
Marble Limestone is a type of stone, half metamorphosed limestone before turning into marble. Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is subjected to the heat and pressure of metamorphism. It is composed primarily of the mineral calcite (CaCO3) and usually contains other minerals, such as clay minerals, micas, quartz, pyrite, iron oxides, and graphite. The artist's concept follows this unique material characteristics and gives it a new alternative art shape.
