“Game Time” captures a basketball player in a moment of complete focus and controlled movement. The body is defined by delicate, spontaneous lines that seem to move across the deep black background, while the warm orange basketball becomes the visual centre of the composition.

The contrast between the almost weightless drawing and the dark surface gives the figure a striking presence. Blue, white and subtle skin-toned accents create rhythm and depth without taking away from the immediacy of the movement.

Rather than depicting every anatomical detail, Nicole Leidenfrost concentrates on the essence of the sporting moment: balance, concentration, speed and anticipation. The player appears to be thinking one move ahead – the brief second before the game changes direction.
