This original abstract expressive painting is inspired by the bold work of Willem De Kooning. This acrylic painting came into being through a freedom of sweeping gestures. The work has a playful quality and a light palette which reflects my more relaxed state of mind when creating it. It's a smaller scale painting but packs a punch, often being compared to a zoomed in De Kooning. The piece is finished with a light layer of gloss varnish to give it a subtle shine.
