Femininity Sketch No. 2 started as an exercise in watching myself — noticing how my body actually feels and takes up space when I stop performing and just rest. It’s a small oil, only 20 × 20 cm, done as a sketch toward a bigger series I’m building around femininity. I let the palette do most of the emotional work: violet for the body, red pressing in around it, almost too close, like the intensity of paying attention to yourself for once. The pose isn’t posed — it’s just what my arm does when it’s tired, what my hand does when it’s holding a phone without really looking at it. Small works like this are where I figure out what the bigger paintings need to say.
