This work is entirely imagined and belongs to a series exploring the theme of sleep and dreaming. I have always been drawn to vivid, colorful dreams as a subject for painting. In this piece, I tried to capture that immersive, almost elusive state through color and space.
A child sleeps peacefully within an abstract field of color, gently enveloped and protected by it — suspended somewhere between reality and dream. The atmosphere is both calm and slightly tense, creating a sense of quiet mystery and inner emotional resonance.
The painting is executed in oil in a free, expressive manner. The background is painted alla prima, allowing the colors to remain fresh and alive. In places, the paint softly extends beyond the edges of the format, enhancing the feeling of fluidity and openness. The figure is painted more solidly and densely, creating a subtle contrast with the surrounding painterly space.
