This original large scale abstract expressive painting has a palette of blues, crimsons and light whites and beiges. Prussian blue is used throughout the painting.
This mixed media, expressive gestures, texture and the large scale of the work create an immersive piece.

The painting started off as a mountainscape and over the weeks of layering materials, and rubbing back, the work took on a feeling of a body of water, something submerged. The horizontal sweep reads almost like a horizon line, but it’s unstable, suspended between water, sky, and something psychological. The teal/blue mass holds the centre, while the ruptures of crimson and pale light hope to balance the image and draw the eye across the work.
