Artwork description:

An intriguing small sculpture with a forward-going movement and a curious dynamic between the figures and their creatures.

A small sculpture created in a vibrant contemporary British eco-resin that is distinctive and affordable, the Creature-Runners bring their own particular narrative into our world and environment.

The Creature-Runners are trotting along with an aim to get somewhere, and they are taking their translucent creatures with them to maintain unity on their journey. The second runner was slightly left behind at the outset, and has had to run faster in order to catch up. His creature is trying to be as helpful as possible by stream-lining itself to cut through the air. The first creature has been able to be more relaxed, although he has been left slightly dangling.

I made this sculpture by modelling with wax onto a wire armature, or framework, and then I moulded and cast it using an innovative technique that I have pioneered. You can see pictures of me casting sculpture in the “Me at Work” section of my Profile.

Creature-Runners are made of a beautiful translucent British eco-resin, so that the figures are creamy in colour, reflecting the wax that they were originally made in, and their creatures are vibrant orange and blue. The translucent material allows for interesting glimpses through to the armature, or internal structure of the sculpture. The sculpture is mounted on a translucent white flat acrylic base. It is 14cm long, 11cm tall, and 6cm wide including the base, and for sale as a limited edition of 24. The sculpture is initialled on the inside back heal of both runners, and comes with a signed letter of authentication stating its edition number.

This sculpture is relatively durable and can withstand small knocks and movements in the home. Being made in a light-weight material, it weighs less than half a kilo and is easy to transport and move about. I package it in a sturdy cardboard box and it travels very well by courier. Please feel free to send me a message with any questions. There is a “Contact Me” button next to the “Follow Me” button under my profile images.

Thank you so much for your interest in my work.
