Original artwork description
Gravity belongs to my Brouillon XIII series, a body of small works exploring imaginary figures, movement and the strange relationship between people and their surroundings.
Several elongated figures gather beneath a luminous circular form. Their bodies appear simultaneously human and constructed, somewhere between people, mannequins and sculptural objects.
I use repeated lines, scratches and small marks to build a dense visual surface. The yellow and black palette gives the scene the atmosphere of an old photograph, while the exaggerated proportions make the figures feel slightly unreal.
Gravity is about physical attraction, but also about the invisible forces that keep people together.
