This painting grew out of a single accidental summer memory: two figures by a pond at dusk, glimpsed during a bicycle ride. I was not interested in documenting the scene. I wanted to capture how time is felt, in that threshold hour when mist, residual light and reflections on the water turn reality into sensation.

A forest-green haze surrounds a glowing, blurred horizon of tangerine. Inlaid stones, glass beads, pearls and mosaic fragments are set directly into the paint, mirroring the way memory flickers, breaks apart and reassembles. Polaroid photographs at the bottom act as material anchors between the vanished past and the tangible present.

This is not a landscape but an attempt to catch the tail of a departing summer evening fixed in memory.

Materials used:

acrylic mosaic pearl beads rhinestones and faceted stones
