Always This Bright (2026) Original Oil Painting by Roberta Heslop

30 × 30 inches (76.2 × 76.2 cm) | Original oil and gold leaf on deep-edge canvas.

Part of the Abreast collection, exploring women’s journeys through change, the scars we carry, and the strength we discover along the way.

A hand rests against the body. Gold catches the light. As you spend time with Always This Bright, its title begins to feel like something you might want a woman you love to hear: her worth has been there throughout.

You may read the gold leaf as a way of honouring scars and the changes a body carries through life. There is space here for vulnerability, for an altered sense of self, and for the gradual work of becoming familiar with your own reflection again. Strength can be quiet, uncertain and still present.

Presented in a dark brown wooden floating frame, included in the price, without glass. Overall framed dimensions: 79.7 × 79.7 × 5.4 cm (height × width × depth). Approximate framed weight: 5 kg, excluding packaging.
