The Story Behind the Piece
"After the Bath" captures a private, unobserved moment of serenity. The sculpture depicts a nude female figure in the gentle act of drying or adjusting her hair—a ritual as old as humanity itself. My goal was to portray more than just the physical beauty of the body; I wanted to capture the feeling of freshness and the quiet introspection that follows a purifying bath. The pose is natural and fluid, conveying a sense of ease and comfort in one's own skin.
The Artist's Touch
Every stage of this sculpture's journey—from the first touch of clay to the final pour of metal—took place in my own specialized bronze foundry. Using the traditional lost-wax technique, I have deliberately left traces of my hand-modeling in the work. These textures, now preserved forever in bronze, catch the light in different ways, giving the skin a vibrant, living quality. The rich, dark patina I applied by hand emphasizes the curves and shadows of the figure, creating a sophisticated play of light that changes as you move around the piece.
A Lasting Presence
Forged at 1200°C, "After the Bath" is what I call a "small story" of human grace. It is designed to be an "Anchor of Silence" in your home—a piece that invites you to slow down and appreciate the simple, enduring miracles of life. As a hand-finished original, this sculpture is a unique testament to traditional craftsmanship and contemporary feeling, built to be cherished for generations.
