Original artwork description
This original watercolour and ink drawing captures the distinctive character of a camel with a touch of warmth and humour. Expressive lines and loose washes of colour bring out the animal’s individual expression, creating a portrait that feels both spontaneous and full of personality.
Rather than pursuing photographic detail, the work uses the freedom of drawing and watercolour to convey the camel’s unique charm.
An original artwork on paper, created with watercolour and ink.
I was attracted by the camel’s distinctive appearance and the character that can emerge from even a simple expression. I wanted to capture something individual and engaging, allowing a hint of humour to emerge naturally from the animal’s features.
I worked with watercolour and ink, combining fluid areas of colour with loose, expressive lines. This approach leaves room for spontaneity and gives the drawing a lively quality without losing the recognisable character of the animal.
What makes this piece special is its friendly, slightly whimsical presence. It encourages the viewer to connect with the animal as an individual rather than simply seeing it as a familiar species.
Materials used:
Watercolor and ink

- Watercolour on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 28 x 21 x 0.1cm (unframed)
