Biography
I've always been drawn to places shaped by time—weathered walls, worn surfaces, and the layers of history they reveal. These qualities inspire my mixed-media abstract paintings.
I build each painting laver by laver through texture and mark making, allowing intuition, change, and imperfection to shape the work as it evolves.
Rather than describing a specific place, my paintings offer fragments—echoes of landscape, architecture, and memory—that invite each viewer to form their own connection.
Shellies work has been exhibited throughout Oregon, including at the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery and RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, where she held a solo exhibition in 2020. In 2019, she received First Place and a Blue Ribbon at the Oregon Society of Artists Spring Exhibition.
