Two roses appear almost weightless against the open white space, held together by only a few traces of leaves and stems. Warm pinks, muted reds and earthy greens move softly through the petals, sometimes defining their form and sometimes allowing it to disappear.
The painting explores how little is needed for something to become present. Rather than describing every detail, it leaves space for the eye to complete what is missing — somewhere between observation, memory and suggestion.
