Lemon Sugar Pop (2025) Original Oil Painting by Angie Wright

This painting feels like summer at its most joyful and unrestrained. Lemon yellows, juicy pinks and fresh greens collide in a wild meadow of expressive blooms, layered with energetic drips, splashes and thick textured paint. I wanted it to feel like standing in a field that has completely taken over, where colour spills everywhere and nothing is held back.
There is a sweetness running through it, like citrus and sugar in the air, but also a sense of movement and freedom. I worked intuitively, building up layers of oil and acrylic, allowing the paint to run, drip and settle in its own way. Some flowers emerge clearly while others dissolve into abstract marks, creating that balance between chaos and beauty that I am always drawn to.
It is vibrant, playful and full of life, designed to lift a space and bring a hit of colour and energy into the room.
