Wild Hearts

Wild Hearts is an atmospheric mixed-media floral painting celebrating the untamed beauty and individuality of wildflowers.

Against a richly layered background of muted turquoise, earthy neutrals and warm blush tones, vibrant coral, pink and turquoise flowers emerge amongst delicate stems, sculptural seedheads and expressive botanical forms. Each seems to have its own character, growing freely and finding its place within the meadow.

Created intuitively through layers of paint and expressive mark-making, the surface incorporates raised texture and subtle metallic highlights that catch the light and bring another dimension to the piece. The solid cradled wood panel provides the perfect surface for these tactile details and gives the painting a contemporary, object-like quality.

There is something both joyful and slightly mysterious about Wild Hearts — an imagined meadow where nature is allowed to grow freely, imperfectly and entirely on its own terms.
