White Interval (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Gera Dunachie

54 x 54 x 3cm (framed)

£600

The composition of White Interval feels both architectural and fluid. Blocks, seams and shifting planes seem to overlap, tilt and press against one another, while softer brushed passages keep the painting from becoming rigid. Darker areas give the work weight, but the luminous blues and pale central forms keep it open and energetic.

What I like most about this painting is the tension between structure and movement. Nothing sits completely still. The eye travels across the surface, finding small changes in texture, colour and balance each time.

At 50 × 50 cm, it has enough visual presence to anchor a wall without overwhelming a room. The cool palette makes it easy to place in a contemporary interior, while the stronger cobalt, turquoise and charcoal passages give it considerably more character than a purely neutral abstract.

- Acrylic on cradled wood panel.
- 50 × 50 cm.
- Framed in black tray float frame.
- Protected with satin anti-UV varnish.
- Signed and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

I'm a London-based abstract painter working with acrylic and mixed media on cradled wood panel. My paintings build through layering and reduction. They tend to be geometric in structure, with colour that moves between cold restraint and moments of warmth and friction.

I have aphantasia and synaesthesia, which means that I can't visualise in advance and colour arrives as sensation rather than image. Each painting develops through that process, with earlier marks and decisions left visible in the surface. What remains is what earned its place.
