Original artwork description
In the mixed media landscape artwork 'WHERE SUMMER LINGERS', two boys run through a summer meadow landscape.
They are painted in blue-green colors to indicate that they are completely absorbed in their surroundings.
Their silhouettes disappear into the distance, where a weathered sky and soft blue hues evoke old vacation photos.
In the foreground, the wildflowers are slowly turning brown, a subtle reference to the end of summer. The warmth is still palpable, but nature is already gently showing that the season is changing.
This painting is about freedom. About endless summer days when being outdoors was a matter of course, and every field represented a new adventure.
It evokes memories of youth, carefree days, and the desire never to completely lose that feeling.
As in much of my work, texture plays a leading role.
Plaster layers with paint, acrylic paint, pastel and ink create a surface reminiscent of an old photograph weathered by time.
