When the Blossoms bloom (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Mieke van Os

75 x 115 x 2cm (unframed)

£1,195.05

When will the trees bloom in 2026? It all depends on the geographical position and temperature, both critical ingrediënts. Warmer temperatures bring an earlier bloom, a trendy development over the last decade. Because climat change warms the greater part of our planet, it effects the timing of the blooming. Trees are blooming to servive, but nowadays the therefore necessary bees are gaining a slightly different timetable, so in a while there might be a serious gap, endangering the coëxistence of trees and insects. That would be a pity, really, since all the blossoms create such a lively atmosphere. Love it.

Surprisenly it's not all about tulips in the Netherlands. We have gorgeous blossom-trees as well. These springtime beauties can be spotted around the country. They are ready for the 'gram and so pretty that you don't need a filter.

Materials used:

oil, linen, spray paint, felt, fabric, pastel crayon, alcohol ink, Goldinlay (im.)
