What we talk about (2024) Original Oil Painting by Clara Wilkinson

This is an oil on canvas painting inspired by the pink and greens of an early summer in Portugal. I made plein air watercolour studies every morning in the small village where I stayed last summer and brought these back to my Brighton studio. This painting is expressive and joyful and conveys the rich colours and light of the Mediterranean.
Painted using lots of linseed oil and walnut there is glossiness to the brush strokes combined with areas of flatter colour and spots where I allowed the paint to drip.
This is an abstract expressionist painting sold with a handmade bespoke white tray frame.
