Small scale ink and wash drawing of the Pennsylvania landscape near West Chester county. The fields around West Chester in Pennsylvania are the kind of landscape I grew up around without really seeing. This drawing tries to look at that familiar open ground more carefully, using ink and an expressive approach to line aided by tools that are difficult to control. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, I took this kind of view for granted. Drawing it now, I notice how much it still feels like home.
