"We Became the Flow" (2026) Original Oil Painting by Julia Borg

We Became the Flow grew from my impressions of the water garden in Giverny in spring 2026. I was drawn to the way water lilies, reflections and light seemed to move together until no single element could be separated from the whole.

Created as a diptych, the composition unfolds across two vertical canvases. Loose, energetic brushwork carries turquoise, green, blue and flashes of pink from one panel to the other. Recognisable water lilies drift towards abstraction, while the shifting marks create a feeling of continuous movement.

This original contemporary water lily diptych is inspired by Impressionism, nature and the quiet transformation that occurs when two separate rhythms become one.
