Water Ghosts, oil on canvas, 80 x 80 x 2 cm
Water Ghosts, a flickering glimmer of red and gold, the water twists and turns. The green blue depths shine emerald as spectral life glides by. I glimpse the colour, I hang my hand in the water, I feel the cool space where the graceful phantoms live. I lose hours, watching, feeling myself being lulled with the gentle motion around me. Bubbles rise to the surface, golden sunlight refracts the shapes, I remember the legend of the Koi as dragons.
Inspired by Monet’s use of colour, Water Ghosts has been created to suggest the fleeting abstract shapes of Koi carp in water. Created in vibrant oil paint, Water Ghosts is ready to hang.
